John Nahas is a distinguished leader in the wealth-management industry, recognized for his strategic vision, commitment to advisor success, and ability to build enduring enterprise value. A Southern California native who was born in San Diego and raised in South Orange County, John’s foundation in leadership and service began early and has carried through every stage of his professional journey.

After earning his degree from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, John launched his career in financial services with MetLife Investors in 2001. He quickly advanced from Internal to External Wholesaler, serving financial advisors across major markets including Philadelphia, New York City, and Los Angeles. These formative years gave him a deep understanding of adviser’s needs, client expectations, and the complexities of a rapidly evolving industry.

In 2013, John co-founded Golden State, laying the groundwork for what would become a nationally recognized, advisor-centric wealth-management platform. Over his 11-year tenure as President, he helped shape the firm’s culture, business strategy, and growth trajectory. In 2024, John was appointed Chief Executive Officer, where he now leads the enterprise through its next era as Ascentis, overseeing corporate strategy, advisor growth, and the continued expansion of a modern, integrated RIA ecosystem.

John is known for his ability to identify opportunity, foster meaningful advisor partnerships, and align resources to help advisors reach their long-term personal and business goals. From recruitment and transition through multi-year strategic planning, he remains deeply engaged with each advisor team, ensuring they have the support, clarity, and platform strength needed to thrive.

John resides in Laguna Beach, California with his wife and son. An avid waterman and outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys surfing, skiing, mountain biking, and sailing. He is also an active member of the Alpha Tau Omega Alumni Association, the National Eagle Scout Association, and the Long Beach Yacht Club.
